Pilar Ruiz (Santander, 1969) studied journalism, a master's in scriptwriting and a postgraduate degree in cinema direction. She has furthered her career in different audio-visual disciplines, as a scriptwriter for film and television (The Señora, TVE). She has directed films including The Names of Alice (2005), which was nominated for best soundtrack in the Goya awards, the panel's special mention at the Festival of Malaga and the panel's special prize at the Festival of Miami. She wrote The Alligator's Heart and the Dance of the Serpent (B).
